Does anyone know how to make a double layer of chocolate mousse, cake?
We ate at Jack Mountain a few weeks ago and had a cake chocolate mousse that my wife really enjoyed it. He had an Oreo cookie crust (I think), with a dark bottom layer of mousse, a light top layer mousse and covered with whipped cream. I want to make one for her birthday, but I'm having trouble finding a recipe. Any ideas? Incidentally, I asked if they wanted to sell one, and they wanted $ 60 for it. : (
Chocolate Mousse Pie Ingredients 1-1/2 c chocolate wafer crumbs 1 / 4 cup butter, melted 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, 3 eggs, 1 c whipping cream 3 tablespoons extra CUGAR 1 c ice cream for direct aid ————————— ———————– ————————— — crumbs Method Combine the melted butter and then press into pie plate. Chill. Melt chocolateand let cool to lukewarm. Separate two eggs. Beat 2 egg whites until stiff. 1 Beat c whipping cream adding sugar. Slightly beat 1 whole egg and 2 egg yolks, beat in chocolate (which is cooled chocolate Ensure! Or be obtained fudge!). Add a little whipped cream and egg whites to chocolate. Stir to mix. Then add the remaining cream and egg whites. Pour the mixture into the crust and refrigerate for 4 hours. You can add a layer of whipped cream and shaved chocolate before serving. ———————————— ————– —————————— Note: I once mixed this mixture on top of a double boiler – to melt the chocolate then add the cream too son! – And the result was a delicious "truffle" cake.] You can freeze this then immediately remove from freezer at least 2 hours before eating.
