Whats wrong with being Judas?
A Christian friend of mine was telling me about his church’s Easter pageant, apparently no one wants to play Judas.
As an atheist, i may be missing the point, but it seems to me that the whole Christian religion depends on the Crucifiction, so why is Judas so vilified for his role.
yes, bit if he did not betray Jesus, and there was no crucifiction, then where is no miracle, and the whole religion has no point

That’s simple, nobody wants to be identified to the “bad guy”. Everybody wants to be the “good guy”.
Yes Judas played a vital role in all of it, not just for the crucifiction but if you look at it in a broader sense, everything happened so that God can be glorified by the Son.
It just so happens that man still have difficulty understanding or accepting the fact that this world, this life, our very existence is not about US HUMANS, but ABOUT GOD. Its all about HIM!
…can’t blame them though, with so much deception going on around the world.
